str$   function

numberPascalString = str$(numericExpr)

This function returns a string consisting of the characters in the decimal representation of numericExpr. If the number is non-negative, then numberPascalString will also have a leading space character (if the number is negative, the first character will be the minus sign). str$ formats the number in a reasonable way; if you need the number to appear in a special format, use string functions such as using, hex$, etc.
Generally speaking, str$ is the inverse of the val function.
