Not Printing when Finishing a sale - when Finishing [Posting] a sale, the receipt does not print.

  • Check that the Print when Posting printer preference button is checked on.
  • Ensure the Power is on and LED is lit on the printer front panel.
  • Check the printer's USB cable. Unplug and plug firmly back into the printer and Mac USB port.
  • Ensure the paper roll is inserted properly.
  • Check the Print Queue in Print & Fax System Prefs pane and the printer is not Offline

When printing a receipt with 5 or more items, the printer cuts off the bottom of the receipt.

This occurs when the printer preset is not chosen or the paper size for the printer has been changed.

Select Printer Setup from the File menu

• Click on the Page Setup button below the POS Receipt #1 section.
• Confirm the settings for your printer type installed.

TSP100 series - includes TSP143U
   Paper Size - 72mm * 2000mm
   Scale - 34 %

TSP600 series - includes TSP643U
Paper Size - A4 Width x Long Receipt
   Scale - 100 %

See this page on proper setup for your printer.

The font, size and color of the text in the receipt layout affects the darkness and boldness of what is printed.

Some tips to ensure good readability of the receipt :
  • Good quality thermal paper that was not exposed to humidity
  • Clean thermal print head in the printer.
  • Set print quality to Best or High
  • Use larger font size
  • Use a non-Serif font.  Helvetica Bold works very well.
  • Use black text color
